At Veterans Community Project, we believe dignity lives in the details. That’s why our 240-square-foot tiny homes are thoughtfully designed for Veterans, using PTSD-informed features and a layout that feels familiar and safe. Beyond housing, our staff uses a unique case management framework—called the H.O.M.E.S. Index—to create personalized plans that help each Veteran overcome their barriers and work toward their individual goals.
This approach works: 85% of Veterans who stay in our Villages successfully move on to sustainable permanent housing. And it’s only possible because of people like you. By relying on private donations rather than federal funding, your support gives us the freedom to do what it takes to fix Veteran homelessness.

The reasons for Veteran homelessness are varied, both deeply personal and fundamentally systemic. That is why our H.O.M.E.S. Index framework allows for individualized support helping residents overcome housing barriers.

Since welcoming our first residents in 2018, our model has proven out to an 85% success rate in helping hundreds of Veterans like Leo transition from experiencing homelessness to achieving sustainable permanent housing.

Dignity starts with a home
At 81 years old, U.S. Air Force Veteran Leo experienced homelessness after his house burned down in a fire. But a tiny red home in our Village gave Leo and his dog Petey immediate stability and a chance to rebuild his life.
When a Veteran arrives at VCP, they take our H.O.M.E.S. Index to determine their areas of most need, which include:

As Leo worked with his case manager to plan for the future and increase his VA disability benefits, he and Petey built friendships with fellow Veterans in the Village. After 14 months, they moved into a financially sustainable apartment just down the street.

Today, Leo is a regular face at our weekly coffee hour at our Village Center. He is also an advocate for the mission and has proudly helped other Veterans get connected to resources through VCP, saying, “This is my contribution to my community.”
